Established in 2020 on the island of St. Croix, Melee is the brainchild of owners Mary and Zak Orr.
"After a combined 36 years in the restaurant industry, we decided we wanted to start our own business. Not wanting a brick and mortar restaurant, a food truck and mobile bar was was the obvious answer. We found our unique vintage horse trailer and began concept and build out.. We launched our first mobile bar just before the pandemic began in 2020. What we thought would be strictly a part time events based business quickly morphed. We both lost our jobs dues to the pandemic, and Melee became our everything as we began to set up to serve food and delicious ready made cocktails. Fast forward to 2021 and we began bottling our cocktails for retail sale. Then, in 2022 shortly after the birth of our son, the crazy idea for a second mobile bar surfaced! We bought an old tuk tuk and began scraping, welding, painting, and designing our 5 tap mobile bar that features solely draft cocktails, beer, or wine! We have a passion for making people happy and creating memorable drinks, but mostly we just have a passion for creating.. be it cocktails, mobile bars, food, events, or memorable experiences."
